Served in the U.S. Air Force from August 1954 to
May 1958.
- 1954 - Basic Training at Sampson, AFB. TDY every
afternoon to train with the base team. Trained with Elwood Thornton,
Harry
Smith, Joe Green and Danny Womber.
- 1954 - Gunter, AFB, Montgomery, Alabama - Middleweight
Champion through intra-mural competition
- 1955 - Assigned to Harmon AFB in Newfoundland.
- 1957 - Northeast Overseas Conference Light Middleweight
Champion
- 1958 - Northeast Overseas Conference Light Welterweight
Champion
- 1959 - D.C. Lightweight Champion under the guidance
of George
McCorkle and Bob Foster.
