A member of the Bolling Air Force Base boxing team in Washington, D.C., coached by Edward Frattaroli.

Qualified to represent the USAFE in the Light Weight class and won the championship to enter the Britannia Shield Sporting Event in the United Kingdom at Wembley Stadium.

Boxed in the Olympic Trials at Lackland Air Force Base Sports Arena. Won there to compete in the trials at Cow Palace in San Francisco, California under the coaching of Julius Menendez.

Had a total of 60 bouts from 1956 to 1960.
